The Lone Ranger

Sometimes I wonder if he thinks to himself while looking in the mirror, “Damn I’m good! How I continue to come up with such amazing outfits day after day even amazes me sometimes!”

Who was that masked man?

capture…

Sleeping children.  Some nights I feel like I could spend hours watching them sleep.  I always wonder if this child of mine, my baby, dreams, and if so what are his dreams about?  Can he talk in his dreams?  Maybe one day he’ll be able to tell me…

He’s beat!  Today went so well after school with his new CSW (community support worker).  She is wonderful and an absolute PERFECT match for our family.  It really is true, “Good things DO come to those who wait.”

I spent the afternoon working with my Boardmaker software, creating and printing tons of pictures so that our CSW can help the boy wonder better understand the plan for the days that she is here.  He did great today.  I had to laugh when she put out a choice board and gave him six options for activities.  It was after dinner so she threw “take a shower” in with “go fish”, “go potty”, “Lego’s”, etc.  He chose, “take a shower”!!  We all laughed but  hey, we ran with it.  He even went straight to the bathroom first to “go potty”.  I think seeing the PEC reminded him that he had to go.  The boy is such a visual learner.  I know our CSW was grateful for the communication help, it certainly made her job much easier today.  It was an all around smooth after school to bedtime chunk of time.

God bless Mayer-Johnson!

Good Morning Fall!

Not a bad way to start the day!  As I glanced out the kitchen window early this morning the hill was glowing from the way the sunlight was “spotlighting” the fall colors above the orchard.  I marveled for a minute pointing it out to the kids as they hustled through their morning routine within the kitchen, then I came to and realized what a great photo to capture TODAY!  I donned my wellies, trotted through the grass still wet with the morning dew, to the side of the house where the perfect photo awaited me.  I got there just in time to capture the glow before it was gone and the day was moving on.  I think if I’d gotten out there just a minute earlier it would have glowed even more in the photo but I’m okay with that – it was a great way to start my day and a terrific reminder of just how much I love fall.

I’m excited to document a week of my life, this week has so much to capture…my husband took the week off to play lumberjack and down some trees for firewood, the boy wonder has surgery scheduled for Thursday, and I plan to click and scribble all the live long day!
