Where we are with Section 24 Services as of today…

I will not let down on my quest for services, this I know for sure.  What I don’t know is why the state is making this so difficult!  Thank you to everyone that has given me encouragement and ideas for how to go about navigating this pothole that has appeared in the middle of my path.

The case worker has since returned my email with a request for a signed statement from the Pediatrician that he does in fact have Down syndrome and autism.  (you know how many people like to fake this high rollers life style I lead!) He thinks that this should be sufficient even though the woman he spoke with at DHHS is requesting a Vineland eval.  I’ll start with the signed paper and see what that does for us.  Maybe I should take the man and head on over to DHHS’ higher ranking offices and just let ‘em loose!  Maybe after he rolls all over their office floor while simultaneously licking it and then has a nice big accident of the stinky variety and smears it all over their lovely leather chair and then jumps around the office hand flapping and making loud throaty noises – well, maybe that would get their attention!  It’s just a suggestion, not saying we have to go that far – they could just approve the services and get me some much needed help!  But hey, I’m willing to travel the more difficult path, it’s not a new way for me to travel after all!

I’ll keep you updated!

Had to come back and edit this.  No sooner had I hit “publish” on this post then Poopy McGillicutty struts into the room, odors beyond comprehension wafting from his bohiney, time for a mid day shower!  Too bad DHHS couldn’t be here for what I just cleaned up!
